Jonathan Day

Newly retired from his position as co-chair of one of Houston’s leading law firms, Andrews Kurth LLP, Jonathan’s primary expertise is in litigation involving governmental entities and administrative practice before state and local agencies. A graduate from Princeton University and the University of Texas School of Law, he served as City Attorney for the City of Houston from 1974 through 1976.

Jonathan was an early supporter of Billboards Ltd. in Houston. He is also a former director of the Alley Theatre, the Contemporary Arts Museum, DiverseWorks, and the Wortham Theater Foundation. He has served as Chair of the Boards of various civic organizations, including Houston A+ Challenge, a $60 million project focused on reforming Houston’s public schools. He is currently the Chair of the Board of Houston Zoo, Inc., the non-profit that operates the Houston Zoo. Jonathan recently received the Houston Bar Auxiliary’s Leon Jaworski Award for public service as well as the University of Texas Law School Foundation’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
