Claudia has extensive experience in business management, government relations and civic service. She has served as guest panelist and speaker for various organizations, including the Rice University Graduate Women in Business Leadership Conference, Latinas on the Rise communication workshop, and University of Houston/Clear Lake business management program. She holds a BS in psychology from the University of Houston and has completed graduate studies in education and political science at Rice University.

In 2002, she was appointed to the board of the Houston Area Water Corporation, where she chairs the education committee and currently is leading the effort to develop a new Houston area water museum and education center. In addition, she is an advisory board member for Women’s Resource of Greater Houston and the University of Houston College of Technology’s Construction Management Technology Board.
