What is a bandit sign?
A “bandit sign” is a small, temporary advertisement placed illegally in public spaces such as medians, intersections, utility poles, and sidewalks. In Houston, these signs are prohibited in the public right-of-way because they degrade the visual quality of streetscapes and create safety hazards by distracting drivers and obstructing pedestrian pathways. City regulations ban their placement on public property and infrastructure, with fines issued for violations. It's crucial that we report bandit signs to keep Houston scenic and safe.
