ADOPT-AN-ESPLANADE PROGRAM


The City of Houston’s Parks and Recreation Department (HPARD) allows community groups, nonprofits, businesses, and civic organizations to maintain and enhance roadway esplanades across the city. As a participant, you can enhance your community and create a greener, more welcoming corridor in your neighborhood by caring for and maintaining your adopted esplanade. Together, we can do our part to make sure Houston stays scenic!
What is an esplanade?
A landscaped median or green space located in the public right-of-way between traffic lanes that enhances Houston’s streetscape. It can offer a variety of benefits to our communities like:

enhancing city appearance.

Complete a 6-month trial period

Maintain the site long-term
