Celebrating the Views That Define Our City
What makes Houston beautiful?
For some, it is the skyline rising above Buffalo Bayou at sunset. For others, it is a canopy of trees shading a neighborhood street, a favorite park at dusk, a bayou trail, or one of the wide-open views that reminds us just how expansive and diverse our city can be.
These places shape the way we experience Houston every day. They create a sense of connection, strengthen community pride, support our well-being, and help define the character of our neighborhoods.
As Houston continues to grow, the choices we make about our public spaces matter. The trees we preserve, the roadways we design, the parks we care for, and the views we protect all contribute to the quality of life we share. And once a treasured view is lost, it can be difficult—sometimes impossible—to reclaim.
At Scenic Houston, we believe beauty is not a luxury. It is an essential part of a healthy, vibrant, and livable city.
That belief is at the heart of Show Us Your Houston, a new campaign inviting Houstonians to share the places and views that inspire them most. We want to see the tree-lined streets, neighborhood parks, bayou trails, public gardens, skyline vistas, and everyday moments that make Houston feel like home.
By sharing a photograph, you are doing more than capturing a beautiful scene. You are helping build a community voice around the places that matter. Each image serves as a reminder that Houston’s visual character is worth celebrating, caring for, and preserving.
The inaugural call for entries is open through September 1, 2026. Learn more and submit your treasured view at www.scenichouston.org/myhouston
All entries will be included in a drawing for an annual family membership to the Houston Botanic Garden or the Houston Zoo, with the winner selecting their preferred destination.
So, get out there and show us the view that defines your Houston.
Together, we can inspire appreciation, encourage stewardship, and help ensure that the places we treasure remain part of Houston’s story for generations to come.
